The foundation's Food Truck takes its place in the Brescia paddock to promote social inclusion.
The legendary red arrow of the 1000Miglia is back, speeding through Italy’s most beautiful landscapes. For the third consecutive year, Autogrill is participating in the historic vintage car regularity race as a Race Passion Sponsor, pairing the passion for travel along the Brescia-Rome-Brescia route with a much greater goal: accelerating the culture of workplace inclusion.
The major new highlight in the Brescia paddock On Sunday, June 7th, and Monday, June 8th, the beating heart of the event—the demonstration’s paddock area—is enriched by a special presence. Standing alongside the historic gems of the automotive world is the Food Truck of the PizzAut ETS Foundation. This is the vehicle that Autogrill donated to Nico Acampora’s foundation in April 2024 to support employment opportunities and job inclusion for individuals with autism. During these race days, the paddock is transformed into a tangible space for professional independence and inclusion, where the PizzAut youth can work and showcase the true value of diversity to the 1000Miglia 2026 community. For Autogrill, this participation is part of Avolta’s broader sustainability strategy (“Journey Sustainably On”), which focuses on people’s growth and the creation of fair, open working environments at all levels.
A solidarity journey that started from afar The Food Truck featured at the 1000Miglia 2026 is more than just a work vehicle; it is the symbol of a step-by-step journey that has united travelers all across Italy over recent years. This vehicle is part of the PizzAutoBus project, a fleet designed to travel throughout the country and multiply opportunities for inclusion. The purchase of the vehicle was made possible thanks to the first edition of the GourmAut sandwich in the summer of 2024—a solidarity initiative that allowed for the donation of a remarkable €200,000 to PizzAut. That very same campaign featured Edoardo, a young man from PizzAut hired on a permanent contract by Autogrill who, after gaining experience in Monza, joined the staff of the famous Autogrill in Milan’s Mercato del Duomo in 2026. The solidarity efforts continued into 2025 with a second edition of the sandwich, which successfully raised an additional €150,000 for the “Independent Living Academies” (Palestre di Autonomia Abitativa) project. Thanks to these funds, the foundation purchased an apartment for the CasAutentica project in Cassina de’ Pecchi, providing the youth with a space to experience independent living. Today, amidst the curves and straights of the 1000Miglia, that journey which began in Autogrill stores crosses an exciting new milestone on the ground, proving that inclusion is a beautiful road to travel together.
